Surprised
early today to see a book in the mailbox--Proof for my Chromenos book. Now to proof it. Quiet day.
Ritual breakfast and 2pm meal.
Rose Parade. Short walk outside,
pretty cold. Va watching Oklahoma. Short nap.
Diving further into the Hungarian big novel of last year. We watched the Everything Illuminated movie
the read about four summaries of the story to find out what the heck
exactly. Can see how the novel
overeached badly badly. Got way too much
splash.
My
Copenhagen of the Mind -- phrase in Bernhard's "Over
All" spoken by Wegener -- so is it a cliché in German literature to think
of Copenhagen as some pinnacle of Germanic thought/idealism? Kierkegaard. Either/Or

Jan 8 Weds night
Day off. Lunched at India Palace
in Manchester. Not sure I like Gibson's
cafe, or even the bookstore. Still
getting used to it. Had coffee and
brownie there. Less cold today. Walked in the mall. Few emails from Pat about his book, graphic
novel, graphic poem. Told him to change
the title but not sure he liked that.
Va's
macbook crashed two days ago---screen black.
Second macbook also crashing---no disk space left. I think we go to Pheasant Lane tomorrow to
buy a new computer.
